Joy Baylis, ARNP
Joy was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She graduated from Edgewater High School and matriculated to Rollins College. After a year at Rollins, she transferred to the University of Central Florida where she spent the next three years studying Physical Anthropology as well as Biological and Chemical Science. Joy graduated with Honors from UCF in 2002. Sensing she wasn’t quite done with her education, Joy was admitted to the inaugural class of the Accelerated Nursing Program at UCF. Early in her nursing education she decided that becoming a nurse practitioner, specifically in pediatrics, was her goal. She was accepted to Emory University’s Masters in Nursing program where she received the Woodruff Fellowship.
Upon completion of her graduate studies at Emory University, Joy, her husband and two children moved home to Orlando where she began working in the Emergency Department at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. Nearly 8 years later, she moved on to school health in an effort to keep consistent schedule and be home with her growing children. She comes to our practice after dedicating 3 years to school health.
In her free time she is usually found on the sidelines of her children’s various sporting events, reading, watching British Crime dramas, or baking. Joy loves to travel with her family so, if you have a grand adventure to share, she would love to hear about your journey!
